Summary

This ESRI format polyline type shapefile is a primary basemap layer for GIS mapping and analysis carried out by the City of New Orleans GIS Department. Originally it was provided by the City of New Orleans "Call 911" department, which developed the dataset. It shows the centerlines of all of the roadways within Orleans Parish to within a horizontal accuracy of three feet (3'), plus or minus, or better. No vertical data is associated with the dataset. Important attributes maintained include a unique Street Identification number; street segments corresponding to "100 block" address numbers; house number ranges; Federal CFCC road type code; Street Name; Prefix Direction; Suffix Street Type.
