Summary

This layer is a georeferenced raster image of the historic paper map entitled: A map of the British and French dominions in North America : with the roads, distances, limits, and extent of the settlements, humbly inscribed to the Right Honourable the Earl of Halifax, and the other Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners for Trade & Plantations, by their Lordships most obliged and very humble servant, Jno. Mitchell ; Tho. Kitchin, sculp. It was published by the author and sold by And. Millar opposite Katherine Street in the Strand in 1755. Scale [ca. 1:2,000,000]. This layer is image 1 of 7 total images, representing the northeast portion of the eight sheet source map. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the World Gall projection. All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. This map shows features such as drainage, cities and other human settlements, Indian tribe regions, fortification, roads, territorial boundaries, shoreline features, and more.
