Summary

Relief shown by hachures and land forms. Redrawing of topographical survey of 1782. Above neat line at lower left: Drawn by J. Calvin Smith, from a manuscript in the possession of John Lozier, Esq. Table of references identifies major buildings and areas of the city burned in fires of 1776 and 1778. The so-called Hills plan, drawn in 1785 but depicting New York City in 1782, was given to the city in 1847 by John Lozier and deposited at the New-York Historical Society. cf.
