From: First Latin edition of Braun, Georg and Hogenber, Franz, Civitates orbis terrarum. Original in Vol. 2 plate No. 54, pub. Cologne 1575. Bird's-eye view of Jerusalem. Relief shown pictorially. Includes index of 48 numbered locations. Text in Latin on verso "Hierosolyma." Title translation: Jerusalem, the Holy City, by far the most famous city of Juda and the East, in her present time, size and greatness. At top of map: Ezechielis. V. Haec eft Jerusalem. Ego eam in medio Gentium posui, et in eius circuitu terras. Translation: This is Jerusalem I have set her in the midst of the nations, and countries are round about her. Prophet Ezekiel.
