Summary

The Cameroons under the United Kingdom Trusteeship consisted of two mountainous strips divided by the Benue river by a gap of approximately 45 miles. "1850/16/3-54" Map shows: international, provincial, Nigeria-Cameroons, divisional, and district boundaries; customs stations; two classes of roads; railways; lighthouses; telegraph lines; wireless stations; and native courts. The Trust Territory administered as part of Bornu, Adamawa, Benue, is shown by color code. Original map is filed in the Map/Geospatial Center, a map reproduction is included in companion volume. "Crown copyright reserved" Map shows the Trust Territory administered as part northern region of Nigeria referred as Northern Cameroon or northern areas that joined Nigeria in 1961.
