Relief shown pictorially. Based on Cornelis de Jode's map of America, showing Northwest passage, Virginia placed in New England area, and a peninsula, "Apalaco," west of Florida. Burden and Cumming attribute this map to Matthias Quad and refer to its appearance in works of 1600 and 1608. " ... apud Bryaeos imprimuntur" and "coloniae laminis Jani buxemechers."
