Summary
This polygon shapefile contains the boundaries for autonomous republics within the Republic of Georgia. Populations from the 1989 Soviet census are also inlcluded. The 2 entities, Adjara and Abkhazia, were established during the Soviet regime and are recognized in the Constitution of Georgia (1995). This layer is part of a collection of data relating to administrative units in the Republic of Georgia.
