    Summary: This polygon shapefile portrays the distribution of 10 selected amphibians in the United States, based on historical literature and museum records from current and historical sources ranging from 1941 to 2000. This layer is part of the 1997-2014 edition of the National Atlas of the United States. These data are intended for geographic display and analysis at the national level, and for large regional areas. The data should be displayed and analyzed at scales appropriate for 1:2,000,000-scale data. No responsibility is assumed by the National Atlas of the United States in the use of these data.     Summary: This data set portrays the distribution of 10 selected amphibians in New York State, based on historical literature and museum records from current and historical sources. The amphibians included are northern cricket frog, American toad, Cope's gray treefrog, gray treefrog, eastern newt, eastern red-backed salamander, northern two-lined salamander, mudpuppy, western lesser siren, and spring peeper. These data are intended for geographic display and analysis at the national level, and for large regional areas. The data should be displayed and analyzed at scales appropriate for 1:2,000,000-scale data. No responsibility is assumed by the U.S. Geological Survey in the use of these data.

    Contributors:

    Summary: This point shapefile represents the birth location of Romanian artists from the Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries. The data table includes both the birth and death locations and dates as well as the artists' nationality and art movement. The data was scraped from WikiArt.com. More about this project is available at https://lauxenos.hosting.nyu.edu/dhs/p/6/. This data was collected as part of a student project for the NYU Abu Dhabi course Data and Human Space taught by David Wrisley during fall semester 2018.

    Contributors:

    Summary: This layer is a georeferenced raster image of the historic paper map entitled: Map of the city of Worcester, Mass. : from actual surveys under the direction of P. Ball, C.E. It was published by Smith & Mc.Kinney, between 1850 and 1860. Scale [ca. 1:3,600]. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the Massachusetts State Plane Coordinate System, Mainland Zone (in Feet) (Fipszone 2001) coordinate system. All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. This map shows features such as roads, railroads and stations, drainage, public buildings, schools, industry locations (e.g. mills, factories, etc.), selected private buildings with names of property owners, town and ward boundaries, cemeteries, and more. Includes also engravings of important buildings and advertisements in margins. This layer is part of a selection of digitally scanned and georeferenced historic maps from the Harvard Map Collection. These maps typically portray both natural and manmade features. The selection represents a range of originators, ground condition dates, scales, and map purposes.
